So I have been concerned that my feet aren't as strong as they should be. I decided to start working out barefoot as often as is realistic. Last night was INSANITY, Cardio Power and Resistance.
See what Grok thinks of foot strength at:

This may seem an irrational concern to some; we all wear shoes, don't we? Well, yes! In OUR culture it has become the norm. For me it was beyond that. I sprained my ankles so many times when I was younger that I made it my religion to only buy hightop footwear with super ankle support. The end result was weaker ankles and more injuries.
Eventually I found INSANITY and really strengthened up my ankles, my feet, my back, and everything in between. But I have been thinking more and more about balance and those little muscles in my feet. If I can strengthen them, could I jump higher? Run faster? It seems worth a shot.
During the warm up I could feel my feet working in ways they aren't used to. I thought I would put shoes on between one of the sets before I started to hurt. Through the warm-up, however, my feet got warmed up too! I made it through the whole workout without putting my shoes back on!
This morning I can feel the little muscles in my feet. They feel worked, but not really sore. I will put that in the "road to recovery" column.
I decided to do a short TurboJam 20 minute workout with shoes to help loosen everything up. I plan on doing some more INSANITY this afternoon. I will keep you updated on my little experiment.
