I will update this post as I find more and better information for you. For now, let me post these two videos. The last minute of the first is a commercial, but the video is so well done and so much better than anything I have seen yet, I am ok promoting their product. I haven't tried their product yet, nor do I get paid to promote it.
This video highlights two brothers with both running forms at several speeds so you can compare.
Here is some science behind the magic and some brilliant images that will help you understand what you are looking to do... right from the minds at Harvard:
There are many more things to consider in running including posture and what to do with your upper body. I will get more into that later. In my experience, if you can get the foot to land right, the rest of the body will follow and you can count on injury free running for years to come...
So long as you don't over train and break your foot running barefoot on the beach...
P.S. In hindsight we never could see the break in the X-ray. I am thinking what I felt was a cartilage pop. I never did see a chiropractor about it and it seemed to heal in a matter of weeks. The point is this: like all things fitness, ease into it at first.
